Work to finish the Campotrentino interchange in Trento is awarded

The Province has awarded the contract to finish the Campotrentino interchange in Trento, a road junction where the bypass meets the route to the Trento Nord toll booth. The earlier contractor started the work in 2019 but stopped in December 2021 after filing for composition with creditors, and the contract was ended in 2023. The completion work is planned to take three years, with the site run in phases and temporary lanes to keep traffic moving.

What does it mean?

Work that stalled in Trento will restart with a new contractor. Once finished, drivers in the area will be able to enter and leave the bypass toward the via Maccani commercial area, which is not possible today.

Who is affected?

Drivers and residents of northern Trento, and businesses on via Maccani.

What changes?

Today, traffic cannot make all entry and exit moves between the bypass and the via Maccani commercial area. The new layout will allow all of these movements through a roundabout below the bypass.
