Two aflibercept eye-injection batches recalled over syringe grip flaw

Biogaran and Advanz Pharma, working with France's drug safety agency ANSM, are recalling two specific batches of aflibercept eye-injection syringes: Afiveg lot 2461572 and Mynzepli lot 2393229. The problem is a flaw in the finger grip on the prefilled syringe that could loosen or come off during use. Because complaints and reports came from abroad, the recall now reaches patients who already have these batches, and pharmacies and hospitals are asked to swap them for other lots.

What does it mean?

If you use one of these eye medicines in a prefilled syringe, check the lot number on the box. If it matches lot 2461572 for Afiveg or lot 2393229 for Mynzepli, do not use it and take it back for an exchange.

Who is affected?

Patients who received Afiveg or Mynzepli from the recalled lots, and pharmacies, hospitals and distributors holding them.
