Strong winds and 1–2.5 metre waves forecast for northern Baltic Sea from 30 October

The Estonian Environment Agency has issued a new marine warning for the northern Baltic Sea. It expects northwest and north winds gusting up to 15 metres per second, with waves between 1 and 2.5 metres high, from 14:00 on 30 October to midnight on 31 October 2026. A marine warning is an official alert for conditions that can make sea travel risky.

What does it mean?

If you plan to sail, fish or take a boat out, the northern Baltic Sea will be rough from afternoon on 30 October until midnight on 31 October. Winds gusting to 15 metres per second and waves of up to 2.5 metres make small boats unsafe.

Who is affected?

Boaters, fishers and anyone planning sea trips in the northern Baltic Sea.
