Social media listings audit: 70 galleries fined 7 million TL, Meta fined 20 million TL
The Ministry of Trade continues its audit of real estate and car dealer listings on social media. In the latest audit, a total of 7 million TL in fines was imposed on 70 businesses; the number of fined businesses rose to 152, and the total fine amount rose to 15,2 million TL. Additionally, an administrative fine of 20 million TL was imposed on Meta and 4 million TL on TikTok.
What does it mean?
People who post home or vehicle listings on social media must share a link showing the listing has passed the Ministry's verification system, and must write a price. Businesses that did not follow the rules received fines. The goal is to prevent fake listings and listing clutter.
Who is affected?
Real estate agents and car dealers who post listings on social media, and consumers who view those listings.
