Miyazu Port to be re-registered as 'Minato Oasis Miyazu Amanohashidate' on November 15 (Reiwa 8)
Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism says Miyazu Port will be re-registered on November 15 of Reiwa 8 as 'Minato Oasis Miyazu Amanohashidate', covering the whole port rather than a smaller area. The flagship site is the roadside station closest to Amanohashidate. Amanohashidate Station, Shimazaki Park, local history museums and three sightseeing boat landings are added as new component facilities. A registration certificate ceremony will be held that morning at 9:00 at Shimazaki Park.
What does it mean?
The tourism and local promotion area at Miyazu Port will be officially re-registered on November 15 of Reiwa 8. Facilities around the port will be presented as one wider area for visitors.
Who is affected?
Tourists visiting Miyazu and Amanohashidate, local businesses, sightseeing boat operators and organizations serving the area.
What changes?
Previously, 'Minato Oasis Miyazu' covered only a specific area. Under the new name 'Minato Oasis Miyazu Amanohashidate', it will cover the whole of Miyazu Port.
