French agency warns of multiple WordPress security flaws; update to 7.1.4
France's national cyber agency CERT-FR issued an advisory on 29 October 2026 warning of several security flaws in WordPress, the widely used website publishing software. Some of the flaws could let an attacker run harmful code on a server remotely or knock a site offline. The fix is to update to WordPress 7.1.4 or later, as described in WordPress's own security bulletin.
What does it mean?
If you run a WordPress website, you need to update it to version 7.1.4 or newer. Older versions have security holes that attackers could use to take control of the site or take it offline.
Who is affected?
Owners and administrators of websites running WordPress versions earlier than 7.1.4.
