France sets up advisory panel for central ministry contract staff
A new French order sets up a joint consultative commission for contract staff in the central offices of the national education, higher education and research, and youth and sports ministries. It was signed on 16 October 2026 and published on 29 October 2026, after a 24 September 2026 opinion from the unified social committee. A joint consultative commission is a body with equal representation of staff and management that gives advice on employment matters.
What does it mean?
If you work on a contract, not as a permanent civil servant, in the central offices of these ministries, you now have a dedicated body that gives advice on staff matters. It is set up under the new order published on 29 October 2026.
