Estonian officials visit Italy's ISPRA to learn climate communication

Officials from Estonia's environment agency and climate ministry were hosted by ISPRA, Italy's national environmental institute, from 19 to 23 October 2026. The visit was part of the European Commission's PACE programme and focused on communicating climate adaptation and the green transition to the public. Sessions covered Italy's 2023 adaptation plan, the CLIMADAT platform and communication campaigns, and the group visited the Secche di Tor Paterno marine protected area.

What does it mean?

Estonian government staff spent a week in Italy learning how Italian agencies explain climate change and going green to the public. The aim is to help Estonians understand and back their government's climate goals. The visit does not change any rules or money for ordinary people.

Who is affected?

Officials and communication staff in Estonia's environment and climate bodies, and the Italian agencies that took part.
