Environment Ministry Sends Opinion on Tahara Nakayama Wind Farm Plan
The Ministry of the Environment submitted its opinion on the environmental impact assessment report for the planned Tahara Nakayama wind power project in Aichi Prefecture to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry on October 30, 2026. The opinion asks the developer, Atsumi Wind Power Development Co., Ltd., to coordinate with other operators on cumulative effects, carry out proper bird-strike monitoring after operation, and further reduce impacts on the scenery of Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park. The project would reach up to 21,000 kW using five 4,200 kW-class turbines.
Who is affected?
Residents near the planned site in Tahara, people who value the Mikawa Bay national park coastline, and birds in the area.
