Bayraktar: By 2040, 70 percent of energy will come from renewable sources

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar outlined Türkiye's energy goals in a presentation at the Ankara University 2026-2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony. Bayraktar said that by 2040 about 70 percent of energy will come from renewable sources, and that natural gas production will double from 2027 with the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform. He also said the first electricity from the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is targeted to be produced within the next few months.
