# Nedion Copyright, Sources and Takedown Policy

This document explains which sources Nedion crawls and how, what it does
with the content, and how a rights holder can have content removed. It is
written for source institutions, press publishers and rights holders.

## 1. Nedion's crawler

Nedion crawls under two identities; neither hides itself:

- `NedionSourceBot/1.0 (+https://nedion.org/contact)` — for official
  institution sources.
- `NedionBot/1.0 (+https://nedion.org/bot; news aggregation)` — for
  commercial press publishers.

Both crawlers obey `robots.txt`. For commercial publishers, machine-readable
text and data mining (TDM) reservations (`ai.txt`, TDM headers) are checked
and stored as well; if a publisher has opted out through them, **that source
is not crawled**. The reservation check is refreshed regularly; an opt-out
added later is applied at the next check.

Crawling is polite: limited requests per source, use of
`ETag`/`If-Modified-Since`, size and time limits. The crawler does not pose
as a browser and does not read a site with a certificate error "anyway".

## 2. What is done with the content

Nedion treats two kinds of source under two different regimes:

**2.1 Official institutions (public domain / official publications).**
Central banks, regulators, official gazettes, ministries, exchange disclosure
systems. Their publications are official texts meant to inform the public.
Nedion summarises them, translates them into three languages and publishes
them **always with a link to the source**.

**2.2 Press publishers (copyright-protected).** For commercial news sites
Nedion produces **factual synthesis only**: it briefly states in its own
words what the report says, links to the source, and does not copy the text.
The source's raw text is deleted from the server once
processing is done; only Nedion's own summary remains. Full text, images or
paywalled content are never republished.

Under both regimes raw documents are kept for **90 days** at most (rejected
ones 7 days), used only for processing and never for training a language
model.

## 3. Legal basis

7StockApp OÜ is established in Estonia. Official publications of public
bodies fall outside copyright protection under § 5 of the Estonian
Copyright Act (autoriõiguse seadus); similar exceptions exist in most
jurisdictions. For press publications Nedion relies on the text and data
mining exception of Directive (EU) 2019/790 as implemented in § 19¹ of the
Estonian Copyright Act, and honours the **machine-readable opt-out** that
exception is conditional on; it also produces only short factual summaries
and links. This assessment is Nedion's own view and does not remove a
rights holder's right to object.

## 4. Notice and takedown

If a source or rights holder does not want its content to appear on Nedion:

**Step 1 — Notice.** Write to info@7stock.app. It is enough to state: which
card(s) (Nedion link) or which source (site address); the basis of your
claim (you are the rights holder or their representative); your contact
details. No formal form is required.

**Step 2 — Interim removal.** On receipt of a notice, the card(s) concerned
are taken down within **2 working days** at most and stay hidden during
review. API customers are notified of the removal.

**Step 3 — Decision.** Review is completed within 10 working days at most. If
the removal is confirmed, the source is marked "takedown requested" and
**never crawled again**; this is recorded at source level.

**Step 4 — Reply.** We inform you of the outcome in writing. If a request is
refused, reasons are given and you are told before the content goes back
online.

For notices that appear to be in bad faith or not from a rights holder,
Nedion may ask for a counter-notice and identity verification.

## 5. Permanent opt-out (no crawling)

You can block crawling without sending a notice:

- In `robots.txt`: `Disallow: /` for `User-agent: NedionBot` or
  `User-agent: NedionSourceBot`.
- A TDM reservation: `ai.txt` or a `TDM-Reservation: 1` header.

These signals are applied at the next check (within a few days at most). For
something faster, a single line to info@7stock.app is enough.

## 6. User comments

Comments on Nedion belong to their users. If you believe a comment infringes
your rights, notify the same address; the periods in Section 4 apply to
comments too. The in-app "Report" button drops a notice directly into the
moderation queue.

## 7. Governing language

This policy is written in English. Turkish and Spanish translations are
provided for convenience only; if a translation differs from the English
text, the English text prevails.
